These are the basic spells we use on our club:
Casting the Circle, Calling Quarters, And Closing the
Circle including Watchtowers
Supplies for the Circle Casting
2 white altar candles
bowl of salt
4 white candles for the North, South, East, and West
Pot or cup of water
incense
Prepare your altar beforehand. Use whatever set up you feel comfortable
with.
At the East Candle say:
"In lighting this Candle of the East, I bring freedom of Spirit, Powers of the
East, Light and Air to this
Circle I cast." Light the candle and say : "I ask that the Watchers of the
Watchtower of the East be present and bring with them the protection of
their realm."
At the South:
"In lighting this Candle of the South, I bring Illumination and Inspiration,
Powers of the South, to this
Circle I cast." Light the candle and say: "I ask that the Watchers of the
Watchtower of the South be present and bring with them the protection of
their realm."
At the West:
"In lighting this Candle of the West, I bring courage and cleansing, Powers
of the West, to this Circle
I cast." Light the candle and say: "I ask that the Watchers of the
Watchtower of the West be present and bring with them the protection of
their realm."
At the North:
"In lighting this Candle of the North, I bring Growth and the Powers of the
North to this Circle I
cast." Light the candle.and say: "I ask that the Watchers of the
Watchtower of the North be present and bring with them the protection of
their realm."
Proceed with your magical working or ritual. This is where you do the
spells.
To close a circle, just reverse the opening process.
At the North say:
"Thank you to Watchers of the Watchtower of the North for bringing
protection and the Powers of the North."
Extinguish the candle and say: "I bid farewell to the Watchers of the
North."
At the West say:
"Thank you to the Watchers of the Watchtower of the West for bringing
protection and the Powers of the West."
Extinguish the candle and say: "I bid farewell to the Watchers of the
West."
At the South say:
"Thank you to the Watchers of the Watchtower of the South for bringing
protection and the Powers of the South."
Extinguish the candle and say: "I bid farewell to the Watchers of the
South."
At the East say:
"Thank you to the Watchers of the Watchtower of the East for bringing
protection and the Powers of the East."
Extinguish the candle and say: "I bid farewell to the Watchers of the East."
"Thank you and farewell to the Four Quarters and the Powers they
contain."
"The circle is now closed."
"So mote it be!"
Protection Charm Spell
You will need:
necklace or talisman
sandalwood or Frankincense oil
bowl of salt
bowl of water
white candle
The Spell:
Take the charm and purify it in the salt bowl and in the water bowl.
Say something like I cleanse and disperse negativity from this charm as
I purify it with the salt and with water.
Anoint the charm with a drop of the oil and take it in your hand and
pull energy from beneath you in the Earth through you into the charm
filling it with protecting energy. Light the white candle and holding the
charm up let it circle the flame of the candle in a clockwise motion.
As it is doing this say:
I charge and seal this protection charm in the fire of the God and the
love light of the Goddess. So Mote it Be!!
Then when it is cool enough (try not to put it
directly in the flames) put it on yourself and wear it all the time.
Protection Spells
Items Needed:
White Candle, sage or basil, and a white piece of paper with the
following written on it- Give "the person" protection from those that would
harm her! Banish any and all evil from this persons presence! and a
pentagram with a circlearound it drawn on it as well. A Mirror also to
direct ill energy away from yourself.
Spell:
D
Take the mirror and charge it with protecting energy by letting it catch
the moons reflection if possible or visualize the Goddess lunar energy
fill it with her protecting power. Say something like:
Lady of Love and Light,
Fill this Mirror,
With Your protecting power,
Send negative energy back,
To its ill source.
So Mote It Be!!
Face the Mirror away from you towards the direction of where the person
with the spirit problem lives.
Take the paper and set the candle on top of it. Sprinkle the herb all
the way around the candle.
Touching the candle and the paper, charge them by pulling energy from
the Earth up through your
body and into the candle and the paper. Then light the candle and say
the words on the paper 3 times, visualizing a field of protection going
around "the person". Let the candle burn for 2hrs. When you extinguish
it, bury the paper, herbs, and candle in the Earth. Give thanks to the
Guardians of the Watchtowers and the Lord and Lady. Close your
circle. It is done.
Arianna's Ritual For Parting With a Loved One
Need:
candles for the God and Goddess
blue candle
A Picture of the Loved One
A Gift of your choosing to be buried afterwards
Anything that helps you remember this person to decorate the altar
Ritual:
Arrange altar and circle with above items inside the circle. Light incense and candles except blue candle.
Cast your circle. Call the Quarters (elemental spirits).
Call Upon the God:
Say- Now do I call You to this circle of light, Great God. I call You as Lord of the Harvest, Lord of
Death, Holder of the Keys, Lord of the Underworld; and I call you as the Comforter and Consoler; the
Compassionate One Who leads us all to the Cauldron from which we are reborn. Give welcome now to "your loved one", who comes to join You in the Summerland.
Call Upon the Goddess:
Say- I call upon the Lady as Crone, She Who carries "your loved one" into the love light of the Summerland. That "your loved one" may share with the Lord and Lady as (she/he) reflects upon what they have learned in this life and look forward to the next one to be reborn by the Mother Goddess, Lady of rebirth. May She bestow the wonder of new life again upon "your loved one" when the wheel has turned.
Say- I am here to celebrate the life of "your loved one" and to say farewell until we meet in the Summerland or in another life.
Light the blue candle and say- I light this candle in remembrance of "your loved one" to shine the way to the Summerland. May their light always shine within me.
Now sit and remember the things that you loved about them. Hold the picture in your hands and feel them with you. Feel the inner person that they were and how much they meant to you. Let yourself feel it all....sorrow....love....joy....... Say anything that you would like to say to them....tell them the things that you wanted to say. Then say goodbye to them in this life and wish them well on their way to the next. Let your tears fall and grieve or them and let them go on their way but hold their light in your heart.
Next, hold the gift/offering in your hands and pour out your love and emotions into the gift for your loved one's journey to the Summerlands. It is your way of showing your love for them and sharing a part of yourself with them as they pass on. After the ritual, bury it in the Earth.
When you feel like you have poured out your heart and have found a little peace within from it, you can give thanks to the Lord and Lady. You may thank and bid farewell to the Quarters and release your circle.
You should let the candle burn for the next 2 hrs. before snuffing it out. Bury any remains of the candle and the gift you charged in the Earth. You may want to leave a memorial to that person somewhere in the house with a little blue candle and perhaps the picture that you brought with you into the circle. It is a good way to feel connected to them. Not to call them back but just to remember them and cherish them in your heart. Your rite is done.
